R&D on Eye Tracking
Never stop improving!
And to do so effectively, you need to dedicate time and resources to developing good ideas.
Like the one of Dominick Dedic, Junior Performance Engineer at the Sauber/Stake Formula 1 team and student at the University of Zurich, currently researching on drivers’ ocular movements while driving. The project is to collect and analyze data about where drivers direct their gaze while driving.
To enable this type of data collection, an innovative TOBII device was used—an eye tracker that the drivers wore both on the track and in the simulator. Furthermore, the simulator allowed for eye movements analysis for different drivers profiles: from expert drivers to sim racers, from amateurs to enthusiasts.
Now it’s up to Dominick to extract the valuable data from this activity and transform it into a useful tool.
This type of research delves into an often overlooked aspect of riding, one that can certainly be monitored and improved with training, thanks to innovative products and research that continually pushes the limits!
A special thanks to Alessio Rovera who, as always, has been by our side on this special adventure.
